Mowing Lawn Tips

As long as your lawn is still actively growing, be sure to mow every 5 to 7 days. As the turf’s growth begins to slow, this time frame can be stretched out a little more each time. Just be sure to mow often enough so that no more than 1/3 of the total leaf surface is removed at a time.

Keep in mind that there are both warm-season and cool-season grasses. Cool-season grasses typically become active as warm-season grasses enter its dormancy period. This is often the reason why your neighbor’s grass is lush and green later on in the season when yours is not.

Should you have a mixture of the warm-season and cool-season grasses, your active mowing time will be extended substantially.
