Termite Pest Control

termite pest controlOften referred to as the silent destroyers, termites have earned the handle by causing upwards of $5 billion in property damage in the U.S. each year. They’re not only destructive but cunning, too -- termites can chew through wood and flooring in a short period, going unnoticed until it’s too late.

Evidence of a termite problem can look like mud tubes on a building’s exterior, hollow-sounding wood, blistering or rotting wood structures, “sawdust” near a termite nest (this is termite feces), or swarms of winged insects in or around your home. (Sometimes termites can be mistaken for flying ants, because of their size and shape.)

Termites are attracted to moisture, so keep the area nearest your home or business relatively dry. Make sure your drainage systems are working correctly, and pipes or air conditioning units aren’t leaking.

Also, limit the amount of mulch used near your home, especially if you have wood siding, doors, or windows. Mulch retains water, which is attractive to termites. However, termites do not find mulch as a satisfactory food source, so they’re likely to move on to the wood in your home.

If you store firewood on your property, make sure not to leave it stacked up against any buildings. Firewood, lumber, even cardboard boxes, and other recyclables can attract termites, giving them a closer jumping-off point into your home or business.

Termite Prevention Treatment in Birmingham, AL

Our termite pest control services and termite treatment are strategic. Our Service Professionals know that termite insecticides need to work in such a way that the entire colony (or at least a large percentage of it) needs to be exposed. If, on the other hand, only a handful of bugs die, the colony will adapt and strengthen their defenses against the next attack.

Waynes is your solution for termite protection! Our experts use Constant Protection™, featuring the Sentricon System with AlwaysActive technology, which is designed specifically to be spread across the colony and to the queen. Once the queen is eliminated, the colony follows soon after, and the termite infestation is successfully eliminated!
